The specific cookies we set
- visitor_id — a random identifier that lets us count returning visitors to eloqra.app. Set on the .eloqra.app domain, expires after 30 days, and is not readable by JavaScript.
- Session cookies — set when you sign in to the Eloqra dashboard, so you stay signed in.
- Affiliate attribution — set by Affonso if you arrive through an affiliate link, so the referrer is credited. Expires after 30 days.
Browser storage used by the chat widget
The Eloqra chat widget does not use cookies. It stores a few values in your browser's local storage instead, which stay on your device and are never sent to anyone other than Eloqra:
- eloqra_chat_visitor_id — a random id so a returning visitor keeps the same conversation.
- eloqra_chat_identity — the name and email you optionally type into the pre-chat form, kept so you are not asked again. This is stored in your own browser in plain text.
- eloqra_chat_agent — the name and photo of the person handling your chat, so the panel opens with them already shown.
- eloqra_chat_conversation and eloqra_chat_read — which conversation you were in and how far you had read, so the launcher can show an unread count.
Clearing your browser's site data removes all of them.
4. Third-Party Cookies
We may use third-party services that also use cookies. These include:
- Google Ads — a conversion tag on eloqra.app, used to measure which ads lead to sign-ups.
- Affonso — our affiliate programme, which sets a 30-day cookie to credit the referrer if you arrive through an affiliate link.
- Stripe — payment processing when you subscribe to a paid plan.
These run on the eloqra.app marketing site and dashboard. They are not loaded by the chat widget, so they never run on our customers' websites.
5. How to Control Cookies
You have the right to decide whether to accept or reject cookies. You can exercise your cookie preferences by:
- Setting your browser to refuse all or some browser cookies
- Deleting cookies that have already been set
- Clearing site data for eloqra.app, which also removes the chat widget's local storage entries listed above
- Emailing us at support@eloqra.app to ask us to delete data already associated with your visitor identifier
We do not currently show a cookie consent banner on eloqra.app. The cookies described above are set when you visit, and your browser is the place to control them. If you choose to block all cookies, some parts of our website may not work properly.
